Launched in 2012, THE ONE International is our flagship award, and has uncovered humanitarians in over 200 countries including Brazil, Ethiopia, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Nigeria, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Sri Lanka, Thailand and more.
The winner of THE ONE International will receive US$100,000 in prize money. The other two finalists will receive US$50,000 each. This money must be used to fund the heroes’ service and humanitarian projects so they can continue to transform lives.
These projects cover a range of vital resources including the building of hospitals, clinics, educational institutes, orphanages, rehabilitation centres, elderly care homes, sanitation and sewage facilities, kitchen facilities, shelters, mobile ambulances and more. Others provide basic needs to impoverished communities such as transport, educational and medical supplies, food, shelter, clean water, as well as vocational training to encourage sustainable development.
